backup-01
backup-01 is a privately operated backup server. It encrypts backups of its operator's own servers and stores the encrypted copies in the operator's own Google Drive as an offsite copy.
It is used only by its operator. It is not offered to the public, and no one else can sign up or connect an account.
How it uses Google Drive
- It asks only for the
drive.filepermission, which limits it to files and folders it creates itself. It cannot see, open or change any other file in the Drive. - Everything it uploads is encrypted on the server before upload (restic, AES-256). Google stores only ciphertext.
